Gymnastics + Swimming

The camp will teach boys and girls basic gymnastics skills based on their current level of knowledge. Gymnastics instruction will be from 11:00 -3:00 (with a break for lunch) and an hour of free swim time from 2:00-3:00. NMCCS will provide busing from one or more local schools TBD based on enrollment. Students will be responsible for packing a lunch for the trip. Chaperones are needed for this camp and number of chaperones will be determined by enrollment. If parent signs up to chaperone, camp fee will be refunded/waived. They will chaperone the bus as well as at the YMCA (will need to be in the pool). Max 30 gymnasts!

Babysitter’s Training

Taught by a certified American Red Cross Instructor. This course teaches youth ages 11-15 the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. Combining video and interactive activities, this course helps students develop leadership skills, learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and the children in their care safe, engage children in age-appropriate activities; manage difficult situations on the job, and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. Students will need to bring their own lunch, refrigerator and microwave are available. Max 10 Sitters.

Art Camp

Taught by Art Teacher, Emily Westphal. Students will complete four projects within the theme of outer space to be displayed in a mini Black Light Art Show on the final day of camp. Light show will be at 11:45 on Thursday. A snack for each class will be provided. Max 15 artists!

STEM Engineering Camp
NMCCS will be offering a K-2 STEM Engineering camp at Carney-Nadeau Public School. Andrea Chaney, Kindergarten teacher and BetaWolves Robotics mentor at Carney-Nadeau School, will be teaching the activities. Participants will design, create, and test three different engineer projects including a boat, robot, and maze, plus a few STEM surprises! Max 20 Little Engineers!

- When: July 22nd through July 24th, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 CST
- Where: Carney-Nadeau Kindergarten Classroom

Minecraft Camp

Come play Minecraft with us on our local server! This Minecraft camp will be devoted to having fun and exploring the world with a few choice mods installed. Build, craft, and survive in a harsh world of zombies, creepers and unicorns (Unicorns are a trademark of unicorp. Any unauthorized reproduction of unicorns will be frowned upon). Max 12 Minecrafters!
- Who: 3rd grade and up (current school year)
- When: July 22 through July 24th, 10:00 a.m to 1:00 CST.

Archery Camp

Instructed by Dave Radloff, Michigan 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor. The camp will focus on form and safety, providing the basics that will get students safely shooting and give them an introduction to shooting a bow and arrow. Participants will learn about safety, equipment, technique, mental concentration, and scoring. Participants will also further develop and hone the skills learned with previous archery camps (mental concentration, self-improvement, goal setting, technique). Max 16 Archers

- When: August 5th-8th 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. CST

Horse Camp **SOLD OUT**

Instructed by Nita Curtis & the Midnight Riders 4-H club in cooperation with the Carney Round-Up Rodeo Grounds. Students will learn about grooming and caring for horses and will be introduced to a number of different riding disciplines. Those who register must return a liability waiver and must wear shoes or boots–NO SANDALS! Max 20 youngsters!

- When: August 6th, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST
- Where: Nadeau Township Hall (Carney Round-up Rodeo Grounds)

Intro To Guitars

Taught by Bill Martin who has over 30 years of experience playing guitar and over 16 years of teaching experience. While attending lessons the students will learn: basic chords, how to tune the guitar, notes associated with the frets, some basic songs, names of the strings. You do not need to have your own guitar, Community Schools has guitars available to use for the duration of the camp. Max 10 Guitarists!

- When: August 19th-22nd, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. CST

Intro To Drumming

Instructed by Bill Martin. He has over 16 years of teaching experience. White attending lessons students will learn how to hold drumsticks, how to play in time, different drum rudiments, how to use their feet while playing with their hands, how to use a metronome, and some history. You do not need to have your own drum sticks, Community Schools has drum sticks available to use during the camp. Max 10 Drummers!
